Trials, upgrades, failed payments, and leaving.

14 days, without a card.

When a trial ends your content is preserved and premium entitlements stop. Nothing is deleted.

Checkout is available on Pro and Business. Enterprise is a conversation, so there is no button.

plan.upgraded and plan.downgraded are both recorded in the audit log.

A custom domain may revert after warnings while your Staleless subdomain keeps serving. Readers are never dropped without notice.

Nobody is removed from your workspace by a downgrade. Seat limits bound adding, never removing.

A retry schedule and a grace period. payment.failed and payment.recovered are both recorded.

Documentation is never deleted for a failed payment. A card that expires is an administrative problem, not a reason to take a company’s documentation off the internet.

Cancellation states the effective date, what you lose, that export is available, and the retention period, before you confirm.

There are no dark patterns here and no retention interstitial designed to make you give up.

Deleting a workspace requires:

  • reauthentication;
  • typing the workspace name;
  • a clear explanation of what goes;
  • the export offer;
  • a grace period, where possible.

Detaching the custom domain happens first, so a hostname is never left pointing at nothing.

Note

Deleting a workspace destroys its analytics and its Staleless-side records. Your pages are in your own git repository and are not ours to delete.

Deleting your account never deletes a workspace’s content. A workspace survives its members, and other people’s documentation is not yours to remove.

Export works on every plan and at every point, including after a cancellation. See Export.
